Davinder Kumar Jain was born
in Amritsar in 1943. His family
shifted to Delhi when he was
five years old. He did his
schooling from DAV School, and
was graduated from Dayal
Singh College, Delhi. His father
owned a small stationery shop
and wanted his son to manage
it. He joined his father's
business when he was 12.
There he developed deep liking
for pens, but he didn't want to
continue as a pen shopkeeper.

“Honest beginning never ends.”

“Luxor era started in 1962 when I founded a manual assembly shop in Sadar Bazar in the confined space of 8o square feet. I was then 19. Generally this age is for enjoyment. I too enjoyed it with developing work culture and discipline inside me. I felt I could enjoy life to the fullest that way only. It helped me to respect time greatly. So, I didn't waste it to wait for an opportunity and good time. I kept on chasing what was
quite invisible and uncertain. Perhaps, people perceive this behaviour  'never say die attitude'.”

Set to step in the new
world.

Giving world to the
pen rather than
creating the world of
pens.

Surroundings are
foreground for him not
background.
